The Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Eta Tau Lambda Chapter is sponsoring our Annual Scholarship Program in conjunction with Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. and the Alpha Library Committee, Inc. The program benefits graduating seniors from the Summit County schools. Since the inception of the scholarship program, we have awarded over $600,000 in scholarships to Summit county students to assist in the pursuit of higher education.

Each student is eligible to receive a renewable $1000 scholarship per year. Students must be enrolled as a full time student in a four-year program. Those students enrolled in a dual degree program may be eligible for an additional (5th) year.

To qualify for the scholarship, students must provide the following criteria:

  • Family income status
  • Recommendation from a principal, teacher, counselor, or coach
  • Possess a 3.0 or above high school G.P.A.
  • High school transcript

Essay requirements:

  • 300-500 word typed (double spaced)
  • Topic: “How did you overcome any past academic deficiencies and how will you sustain success in college?”
